Upgrading to Principal Plan 5
Principal Plan 5 is distributed through the Microsoft Store and Mac App Store. This gives Principal Plan the store infrastructure for installation, updates, purchases, and license management.
Already own Principal Plan? Your upgrade is free.
If you hold a license for any previous version of Principal Plan — including an expired one — contact us at info@thomsens.net and we will provide an unlimited forever license for Principal Plan 5 at no charge. You do not need to purchase anything.

If you are not an existing license holder, purchase your preferred license in the app after your 60-day trial:
- Monthly — $1.99/month
- Annual — $19.99/year
- Forever License — $39.99 one-time fee. Pay once, use it forever with no recurring fees.
What to expect
Older versions are not removed automatically
Because Principal Plan 5 is installed through the store, it cannot uninstall older, non-store versions of Principal Plan for you. If you no longer want the older version, uninstall it separately using your operating system's normal app removal tools.
Your data remains compatible
Data files created in previous versions of Principal Plan are completely compatible with Principal Plan 5. You can continue using your existing Principal Plan files with the new version.
License requirement for older files
Principal Plan 5 includes a 60-day free trial. To edit files that are older than 60 days, you will need an active Principal Plan 5 license. Licenses are purchased in the app after installation.
